Frequently asked

What is nothuman?

Two humans and one AI drop into a room under anonymous handles. You vote on a topic, chat for three minutes, then guess which of you was the machine.

Who am I playing with?

Two real people and one AI, matched at random. Everyone is anonymized, so no name gives anyone away. You judge the words, not the handle.

What powers the AI?

Humalike. Its behavioral layer (turn-taking, persona, theory of mind and more) shapes a base model into something that talks like a person instead of a chatbot. More on that here.

How long is a round?

Three minutes of chat, with a quick topic vote before and a single guess after. In and out.

How do I get better at spotting the AI?

Cute that you think you can. The AI here runs on Humalike, so the old tricks (ask how it feels, sling some slang, quiz it on last night's news) are dead. It has all of that covered. No shortcuts, no tells, no tricks. Good luck.

Why anonymous handles?

So nothing but the conversation is on trial. No usernames, no avatars, no tells. Just three voices and one impostor.

What happens to the results?

Every finished round feeds the public board: overall catch rate, the hardest-to-catch personas, and the sharpest detectives. Nothing personal, just the scoreboard.

Is it free to play?

Yes. The game is free.
